Today, we woke up at 8 a.m. and began packing our belongings in preparation for the day ahead. By breakfast at 9 a.m., we had packed all our gear, leaving only the tent empty. My backpack weighed in at 16 kg, ready for the hike. Breakfast was quick—tortillas with cheese—before we dismantled the tent and prepared to repeat the hike we had done the day before.

Fortunately, the weather was much better this time. The morning sky was clear and sunny, and the temperature was pleasantly warm. We began the hike at 10 a.m., once again wearing our festive Christmas hats, and slowly made our way up the valley, taking a break halfway through.

As we continued, we reached the col and entered the next valley, where we took another short break before climbing up its side. Eventually, we reached the final valley leading to our camp. Unfortunately, this was when I ran out of water, so I had to borrow some from Mathieu.

When we arrived at Camp Two, I had a bit of a headache, so we rested for a while. The water supply arrived shortly after, but since it came from a stream, we had to filter it before drinking. Once we had clean water, I was able to hydrate, which helped ease my headache.

Next, we built our tent, making sure to find a flat spot to avoid the issues from the night before, where I ended up sliding onto Mathieu’s mattress due to a sloped pitch. Once the tent was set up, I organized my side and took a much-needed hour-long nap.

In the evening, we went to the mess hall dome to relax and have dinner, which was spaghetti Bolognese. While there, we discovered that one of the Wi-Fi networks was not password-protected, allowing us to connect to the internet briefly.

After dinner, we returned to the tent and went to bed early, around 8:30 p.m., ready for the next day’s challenges.
