Today we went down for breakfast and had breakfast decided to organise some activities for the following days including horse riding and a wine tour after talking with reception we figured out a good wine to to do that afternoon organised everything and decided to go to lunch to get some good empanadas.
We took the hotels recommendation and went to a restaurant where Matthieu had been in the past and took their empanadas, which was quite good .
Following the meal, we went back to the hotel where we met up with session and waited for our mini bus for our wine tour .
At two, we were picked up and drove around the city for 30 minutes picking up other people before we arrived at our first winery a modern winery. There we were shown around some of the grapes and then the machine room where they press the wine and store it as well as some of the sellers where they store the fancy wine for longer time.
After that, we were invited to taste three wines which were good, but tried a bit too hard to be fancy . We then got back into the van and went to the next place which was an olive factory which is a bit messier because there were three massive boobs that just arrived at the same time we were invited to 1st taste different types of olives, which were quite tasty, and then we were Shown around the factory to see how the olive oil is made and the different type of olive trees they have.
Our next up was a much older winery, which doesn’t do a lot of volume of wine which looked really nice in between the grapes . There we were shown around different rooms that they used to use to do the wine but had since stopped being used and tried three different wines which were surprisingly sweet and tasty especially since one was a Malbec and was very fruity. The one was so good that I bought three bottles to bring home, including two of the sweet Malbec.
Finally we visited our last winery which did more stronger wines once again we were shown around before getting to taste three wines. We also got to climb in some of that giant oak barrels to take photos.
After that or bus drove us back to Mendoza, but we were about to be late for our restaurant so we where I dropped off and had to rush for six blocks to go back to the hotel and drop off eight bottles of wine that we had purchased. We then rushed to the restaurant.
The restaurant we went to that day was called la cabrera, andwas the same restaurant I used to go to in Buenos Airesand we ordered lots of delicious steaks and sides which tasted exactly the same as they had 10 years prior when I was in Buenos Aires very tasty .
