Day 25 – Buenos Aires – Recoleta & Don Julio

7th January 2025

Today we had another day planned to explore Buenos Aires and we first decided to go to Recoleta the cemetery and visit it in the area. We walked around the many graves and tried to find the grave of a friend of my dad‘s father, but unfortunately he didn’t find anything after visiting the cemetery. We walked around to a cherry Pan place but when we got there we found out it was closed so we had to adapt and I found another empanada place which was close and had great empanadas. On the way back, I separated from the parents because I had to do a group assignment and as I walked back to the hotel I stopped by Rapanui to try their gelato, which was great delicious chocolate and dulce de leche

For dinner, we met up at the hotel and took a taxi to go to Don Julio, a michelin starred restaurant.  There we had to queue but they offered us some sparkling wine whilst we waited and since we were one of the first we managed to get an inside table right next to the grill where we could see them cook all the different steaks.

As we sat down, they served us tomatoes from their garden and bread and some little knickknacks as well as a tiny empanada

We each ordered a steak which when it came was delicious but extremely large and mom could barely eat half of it but it was the best steak of my life

Following that we walked to get some gelato from Rapanui so that my parents and my brother could try it before taking an Uber to go back to the hotel
