Day 15 – Udaipur

24th August 2017

You really don’t realize how tired your body is until you’ve taken a nap. We “slept in” until 8ish, ate breakfast, attempted to find camel riding places, went back to the room, and fell asleep at around 10:30, only to wake up at 1 pm. We had booked an appointment for cooking lessons in the evening and had every intention to go and see palaces and stuff, but the bed is just so comfortable, and we don’t know when the next time we will have such a comfortable bed.

We started watching 007 Octopussy, just because it was shot in Udaipur, but we couldn’t finish it before we had to go to the cooking class. The special effects were incredibly clever but lame at the same time. 1983 was a wild time.

We took our rickshaw and drove out. We passed a bunch of other Rickshaw Runners rickshaws and parked amongst three of them. We walked up two flights of stairs and found ourselves in a little kitchen with an Indian lady. We learn how to make three different traditional North Indian dishes. Without anything too spicy because we told her we couldn’t handle the spicy. We also made their traditional bread and Masala Chai. Everything was very good and we got the recipes so hopefully, we can replicate them one day when we have a proper kitchen. We got to have a proper meal after learning how to cook everything, it was super filling.

We drove back to our hotel afterward and took a bunch of pictures of the rickshaw in front of the fancy hotel.

Before we go to Nepal, we need to start getting rid of a bunch of stuff, since that flight only allows one check-in luggage per person. We are one more stop away from the finish line, our fingers are crossed that nothing else goes one.

Antoine ripped one of the elephant pants we bought because he’s reckless.
