Today we were woken up by the sun around 6:50, before getting our bags ready for the final journey to Marangu gate.

After our breakfast, we exited the mess tent to find all our porters waiting outside for us. After a few songs and dance from them and a quick speech from Sam, Dad thanked all the porters on our behalf and gave them a tip.

We then headed off towards our final stop, on an almost 20km journey, after a while, because I was walking so fast, I realised that I was way in front of the others, but decided to push ahead to our lunch point. 500 m from the lunch there was a side path going to the Maudi crater, so since I was so far ahead I decided to go visit it quickly. after the brief detour, I arrived at the camp for lunch to find the guides looking for me, worried I had gotten lost. We grabbed our lunch in one of the huts before finishing our hike a few hours later. We arrived at Marangu gate, where Same went to pick up our certificates. We then headed off in the bus, feeling extremely dirty and smelly. We first drove to the bank and then to a tourist shop where we bought a few souvenirs, including a new painting for me.

Finally, we went to the Moshi Mama’s shop to have them hand to us our diploma. When we arrived at the hotel, we said goodbye to all our guides, before finally being able to take a shower!

After that, we grabbed dinner, which as usual took a while for them to bring it to us, but the tomato soup as always was amazing, after this, we grabbed our bags in storage and I repacked my suitcase for the rest of my adventures in Africa.
