Day 1 – Nairobi

30th December 2016

Today after finally waking up in a real bed, we went downstairs to grab breakfast and I managed to get one final delicious tomato soup, before going back to our rooms to finish packing my bags for the next leg of my journey.

After my bags were packed, I headed downstairs to say goodbye to Mathieu and Papa, before getting into the taxi to the airport. Once at the airport, I had to wait a while before being able to check-in, but fortunately, I was able to find so Wifi to pass the time.

The plane to Nairobi was quite small, but at least it was quick (45 mins) and landed early in Nairobi. Surprisingly customs and baggage pickup was one of the fastest I have ever experienced.

however when I got out of the airport looking for the taxi I had prepaid, I was unable to fund anyone, so I had to ask someone to lend me their phones so I could call g adventures to make sure they found me, but thankfully they did, once they found me we drove an hour through the Nairobi traffic to our hotel.

Once at the hotel, I quickly went downstairs to grab some chips before taking a shower.

We then had our welcome meeting, in a room that made it look like it was an SU meeting, where I met everyone and we talked about what the rest of the trip would be like, and introduced ourselves. After this, I went straight back to my room to recuperate some of my missing sleep from Kilimanjaro.
