Dushanbe to Ghazza Village

Day 11 - 24th August 2026

Today, after grabbing breakfast, we loaded our bags once again into the minibus and started our journey.

Our first stop was a local museum of antiquities, where we learnt more about the history of Tajikistan and saw some of the artefacts that had been found there.

Next, we visited the new grand mosque, which was built with the help of Qatar. The mosque can fit 5,000 people inside, with another 5,000 able to gather outside.

After the visit, we got back on our minibus and drove for three hours to a lake. There, we stopped for a picnic, which for us was mostly our leftover kebab from the Turkish restaurant we had eaten at the night before.

After lunch, we did a small hike to a local waterfall before it was time to get back into the minibus for the rest of our journey.

After another three hours of driving, with a quick ice cream break in the middle and at least an hour spent navigating mountain roads, we finally made it to Ghazza village.

There, we found our guest house and unloaded our luggage before heading up to the rooftop of the main guest house for dinner under the stars.

After dinner, Ji and I tried to get some photos of the stars. We managed to get a couple of good ones before heading to bed.
