Today we woke up extra early to catch the first DLR from Cutty Sark towards Liverpool Street, where we were then able to catch the Stansted Express.
Once at Stansted, we got through fairly quickly and waited in the boarding lounge, eating our morning sushi while we waited for the plane.
Our first flight to Istanbul went through with no issues and got us there with plenty of time. Even though we had to pick up our luggage and check in again, we were still able to make it through with enough time to go to a restaurant and get ripped off (although at least the food was tasty).
Our next flight was, once again, on a budget airline with no reclining seats. Not the most comfortable of affairs, but we made it through and finally arrived in Bishkek at 3 am.
There, we breezed through security, who didn’t even really check us, before attempting, and failing, to get a cab through an app. In the end, we were convinced by a cab driver to go with him, which turned out to be a 19-year-old who was still studying. He drove a bit like a maniac while playing loud Kyrgyzstani music, but thankfully got us there in one piece!
Once at the hotel, we checked in and went straight to sleep to catch up on some much-needed rest!
