Today we woke up at 4:30 half awake and climbed aboard our bus to bring us to the airport. Our bus drove about an hour arriving before the sun had risen. once we arrived we were dropped off outside of the gates of the airport, and waited in a little restaurant for the airport to open, but as we waited for an hour or 2 we were told that due to clouds covering the Lukla airport (the most dangerous airport in the world) the flights would not be able to depart yet.
So we waited longer, taking a nap and playing some card games whilst every couple of hours we were told our delay was extended. every so often we would get excited to hear the sounds of engines, thinking that the airport was finally sending flights to Lukla, only to learn they were being sent to a different city. in the meantime we could see a balet of helicopters flying in and out of the airport, as they were allowed to fly to Lukla.
Finally at around 4pm the airport decided to cancel all flights due to the weather and we had to get back on our bus and go back to our hotel, where we had another Dal Bhat before going back to bed early o try this again the next morning.
