Day 3 – Amazon Jungle Homestay

24th May 2014

Day 3 – we woke up super early to go to breakfast at 6:30 , before leaving the hotel at 7 to take a private bus to the quito bus station , where we took a bus to tena a city on the edge of the jungle. on the bus (unfortunately) since i was the only one with the suitcase i got to have the front seat which was really bad as everyone would walk infront of me. the bus ride was quite interesting and different it took us 6 hours during which the bus would stop to pick up or drop passengers, or even street venders who would walk down the middle isle to sell you food .

we arived in tena at about 6 where we took taxis with all our stuff to the edge of the jungle where we lived and i ad to drag my uitcase (aka cary it) up a hill , after which we sat down for lunch .

After lunch we walked down to another part of the jungle where we walked around to a viewpoint to admire the scenery, on the way back we stoped on a little stream where our guide, Ricardo took clay and put it on our faces to purify our skins ( i got our ceo to put leafs so i could look like a zombie) , after this we went back to the house where there is a small natural swiming pool to clean our faces, unfortunately i was pushed in all dressed and therefore made sure everyone else would get the same treatment.

after dinner we went through the jungle to a little hut where there was a fire pit and roasted marshmallows while telling horror stories.
