Day 5 – today we went to a local school which welcomes 11 students to the community to learn more about the school and how the kids are taught, we offered them gifts we had bought at the supermarket at Quito, gifts like toilet paper, a football, and pencils, among many other things. After the introduction to the school life we went outside with the kids and played a game of football, which my team won 6-5 and I scored 2 goals!
After the visit to the school we walked thought the jungle on a dirt road for 45 minutes to reach 3 natural swimming pools, from which you could jump from 5 meters and go on natural slides as well as jumping from a vine into the water.
After this we took a car back for lunch and learnt how to make chocolate from the cocoa plant to the chocolate we had to cook and clean the cocoa beans and then smoosh them before cooking them again to make the chocolate that we then got a chance to try with marshmallows or fruits!
After this we had our host teach us about local life (regarding ceremonies) and had to participate in a few including a wedding and some dancing!
