Day 49 – Buenos Aires

9th July 2014

Today we woke up super early (4am to take our 6am flight) to buenos aires, but unfortunately it was cancelled so we had to wait until the next flight at 10 am which was 30 min late, but at least we got a free breakfast.

once we arrived in buenos aires, we took a private bus and put all our bags in the boot, and about 10 min into our journey we were told to stop because our boot was opened and a bag had fallen out, so we spent the next 30 min going back on our tracks looking for the other bags that had fallen out, but ufortunately could not find them.

after the unfortunate incident we went to the hotel and then to a tango show, which first started normally with a tango class. the tango class was delayed for about an hour while we watched the football match (Argentina – Holand) on a tiny computer screen with 15 people behind it, and just before the last penalty was shot (our computer was 20 seconds slow) we heard a roar from outside, which was the screams and shouts of celebration of the entire city resonating from everywhere. as we got out on the balcony, we got to see everyone from the neighboring buildings go out on their balconies and celebrate, or run down the middle of the streets with argentina flags, and convois of cars and police motorbikes and truck come down the street honking and sirens blaring !

after all the excitement we finally had our tango lesson, before a 3 course meal and the tango show right next to us .
