Day 33 – Lake Titicaca

23rd June 2014

today we were welcomed at the hotel by a bunch of touk touk’s ready to bring us to the port where we boarded a boat to visit the peruvian side of lake titicaca

we first went to the uros islands a set of loating islands where we got a lesson about how the islands are built and what life is on these islands , afterthat we boarded one of their boats made out of reeds and i even got to row it

after the uros islands we went back on our boat for 3 hours to another island Taquile where we ate lunch and got to see a community that doesnt use money but shares all the activities evenly and rotate every week

when we finished our lunch we went to another part of the lake where our homestay was to be, we were welcomed by our families and had a marching band follow us to the school where we played a game of football against the locals which we won ! after the game when it was dark we were given traditional costumes to wear and had to dance a traditional dance with the locals

after all these activities we split of into different groups and went to our families where we were given dinner and then went to bed
