Day 45 – San Pedro de Atacama

5th July 2014

Today was the last day of the salt flats expedition and we stopped in many lakes which are supoosed to be different colors ( red and green ) but were so iced up , or hidden by the effects of the wind that we didnt see anything ( all this because we are in winter here)also it was even more windy and cold than the day before and so it was hard to stay out too long

for lunch we stopped at a hot spring with pretty warm water but the second you went out it was freezing , and after lunch our last stop a set of geizers .

finally we arrived at this little hut in the middle of nowhere , which was the bolivia imigration office, where we got stamped out of the country , but had to drive almost an hour to get to San pedro, our next town, where we got stamped into Chile (finally)

for dinner i got a quick empanada before we headed off to go star gazzing in the middle of the dessert , and go to learn about the possitions of the stars aswell as the history of how we thought about them , to finish off we got to see planets and stars closer in the telescopes, before a cup of hot chocolate around a fire to finish the night
