Day 3 – Eldoret

1st January 2017

Today I woke up at 6 am to go to the bathroom, so since it was too late to go back to bed, I rekindled the fire for a while, while using some wifi.

Before breakfast, we all had to pack up our tents and help out the others, before putting all the equipment next to the bus, so the packing team could put it all on the bus. We then got on for a 3h30 journey, where we were supposed to stop at a shopping mall, but unfortunately, it was closed, so we continued and stopped around 12 for a picnic by the side of the road, where we all made our sandwiches in the same way as the day before.

We finally arrived at our camp for the night at around 5 pm, where we all removed the tents once again and set them up, putting our stuff inside of our own tents, luckily since I had my own tent I was able to spread out my stuff inside. I then went to try and take a shower, but it ended up being cold because the hot water wasn’t working.

Since I wasn’t on any duty that night, I decided to go to the bar to hang out with the others before our dinner was ready. During dinner we had our briefing for the next day, warning us that we would be leaving at 6 am, which would mean a 4:30 wake up call. So we went to sleep around 9 pm to make sure we got enough sleep.
