Day 8 – Lake Bunyonyi

6th January 2017

Today I was able to wake up without an alarm clock at around 6h30. I managed to Skype Jamie for about an hour before breakfast, following our breakfast we went down to the hotel bar where we took a boat to see a pigmy tribe would live nearby.

The boat ride took about an hour, where we could see other locals in boats travelling from one place to another, and I had to take a nap due to the rocking motion of the boat. We arrived at the island where the pigmy tribe lived and were welcomed by a lot of kids who wanted to hold our hands on the 20 mins trick up to the top of the hill, where they lived. There we had an explanation by our guide as to how pigmies lived before they danced some traditional dances for us. we visited a few of their houses, but everything felt like it was staged for them to get more money out of us, we left after this and took our boat back to our hotel, where we had lunch, followed by a 3h nap. In the evening we were treated to a traditional meal by Caroline to see what kind of foods Kenyans and Ugandans normally eat.
