Day 11 – Jinja

9th January 2017

Today I was able to sleep in until 8:30 am, so I quickly grabbed breakfast before going to reception as the others were leaving on their different tours. I used my free time to FaceTime Jamie for about an hour, before grabbing a burger.

After the burgers, we went down to the Quad biking place next door and decided to do an hour tour. They first dressed us up in overalls and gave us a helmet and goggles, as well as a scarf to protect ourselves from the dirt. As soon as we were ready we climbed on our quads and got a lesson on how to ride them. We first started off our journey by going through a test track, before we got to go through the Ugandan countryside

As we were driving down on our way to the Nile, we saw lots of kids who would come out of their homes to wave at us, chase and try to high five us. After our time was almost up, we turned around and headed back to drop off the quads, and walked back to camp. Since the quaking had made us so dirty, we decided to head down to the river to take a dip, there we used the super dodgy slides (made of concrete) which lots local kids were using before us, sliding down on oil barrels. There was also a zip line, which I messed up, fell from 3m high and hit the water on my back which took my breath away and I had to quickly swim to shore to recover.

following that we got aboard our sunset cruise on the Nile, with unlimited alcohol. when we got back we grabbed our dinner with ice cream and then went to bed.
