Day 9 – Kampala

7th January 2017

Today we got up early, once again at 5 am, we grabbed breakfast and packed up our tents onto the bus for our journey to Kampala, where we would be staying in the same hotel we had stayed in a few nights before.

After leaving at around 6h30 we drive for 3h before stopping to buy some snacks and go to the bathroom. about an hour after our break, we ended up getting a lot of drivers honking at us, so we stopped to see what was wrong, only to see that our fuel line had broken and left a huge trail of gasoline in our path. While they worked on fixing the truck, with a bunch of locals, we went to investigate, only to figure out it had broken 200m before, exactly where there was a speed bump in the road. after about 30 mins our truck was fixed, thanks to the locals and we went back onto the bus, being watched by all the locals and their kids.

We stopped at the equator once again for lunch and I bought a gift for Jamie, before getting back on the road, during which we played some card games. When we arrived at camp my duty for the day was to clean the bus, so we set about doing this with my team. We then had spaghetti bolognese for dinner, before I skyped Jamie for 10 mins before my phone died.
