Today after taking breakfast where I decided to eat noodles (forgetting about the plan for today) we took a golf buggy through the city to a noodle-making class, where we learned about the different noodles that exist in Vietnam and how they are made. We even got to try to make some ourselves and made our own starter, made of one noodle pancake we had made ourselves together and another one that had been previously fried. Following the demonstration, they served us a delicious bowl of noodles.
Next, we went back to the old town, to get my coat and then go to a lantern-making class, where we got to try and make our own lanterns as best as possible, which I almost did a good job of, except on the seams. We spent an hour or so just gluing our design onto the lantern to make it as pretty as possible.
Next, we went to a local show of some traditional dances, before I went, and found a painting I wanted and negotiated down the price to maybe 60%.
Finally, after buying too much stuff, I dropped everything at the hotel.
For dinner, we did a cooking class and got to learn how to make spring rolls, pho, some noodles, and mango sticky rice for dessert. As we learned from our chef about the different recipes and ingredients we would make different parts of the dishes and would eat some of it to taste as we went along. Finally, after cooking for about 2 hours, we plated our dishes and got to enjoy them in the main restaurant, trying the various different things we had made.
