Today I slept in to catch up on some of the sleep I had missed due to all the travel in the last few days!
around lunch time we took a Bus from Ventiane about 4hr to Vang Vieng. When we got there, after dropping off our bags, we were met with pickup trucks which drove us to the base of a mountain. There we started our 45 minute hike to the summit in 40 degree weather, sweating all the water in our bodies as we got to the top. At the top we got to see the beautiful valley, clouded by smog from the fires being lit in the region at the moment. as you looked at the smoke, you could see bits of burnt leaves flying through the air. We stayed there for a bit before we went back down the steep path, back to our trucks and then back to the hotel.
For dinner we decided to go to an Irish bar in laos, quite random, but they had delicious burgers.
