Today we decided to visit the prison created by the French in Hanoi, which once inside we learnt about all the terrible ways that prisoners were held there during the French reign. However once the prison switch hands to the Vietnamese suddenly it was being called the Hanoi Hilton, due to how well the American prisoners were treated during the war. We spent about an hour looking through the museum learning the slightly propagandist history before we walked back to the city centre to go to a cafe and have brunch, a delicious avocado toast.
After brunch we went back to the hotel to take our stuff to the airport, where after checking in and going through immigration, I got a burger from Burger King out of lack of options. We landed in Ventiane about an hour later, where we went straight to our hotel.
For dinner we decided to go to a local restaurant a short 10 min walk away, but as soon as we stepped out, we were caught in a rain storm and had to run back to the hotel, where thankfully they had giant umbrellas for us to use on our way to the restaurant. There I tried 2 versions of the Lao sausage which were both very good.
