Today I almost missed breakfast because I couldn’t find the restaurant, but thankfully I figured it out. Following this we were picked up by a van to drive us to the first cave we would be visiting today, Paradise Cave.
There we first took a golf buggy to reach the foot of the hill where we hiked up for 20 mins to reach the entrance of the cave. There we went down about 70 m into the giant cave, where we walked around for an hour looking at all the geological structures that had started forming throughout the cave. after leaving this cave, we took a van back to a local restaurant where we were served a buffet of local foods to enjoy.
in the afternoon we took one of the 400+ blue boats found on the river to take a little ride down the river to the next cave we would be visiting, a water cave. We sailed for about 40 minutes to reach the entrance of the cave, where our boat driver removed the ceiling of the boat and started rowing into the cave as we quietly sailed inside the giant cavern hearing the bats and seeing lots of geological structures. We then got off at the end and walked in the cavern for a little bit before we took the boat back and sailed to our hotel in the intense heat, leaving the cool of the cave.
As we got back to the hotel we were quickly able to take a shower to watch all of the sweat we had accumulated from just existing, before we took a bus to the train station. We got on our night train, which thankfully was much cleaner, and we couldn’t see any cockroaches this time, however it was a struggle to sleep due to how bumpy the ride was.
