Day 10 – Jerash & the Dead Sea

24th July 2021

Today I was woken up by the fire alarm at 5 am, but it seemed to be a false alarm so I decided to go back to sleep. At seven I woke up again and after getting ready went downstairs to grab some breakfast before we left.

We got onto a van for our first stop which was Jerash, an old Roman city, we got there and walked around the ruins, whilst our guide told us more about the city. After two hours we headed back to the bus to drive to the dead sea, on the way we stopped over at a kebab shop where we grabbed some local kebabs to go, which were delicious. Then I was able to lie down and took a nap for the rest of the one hour and a half journey to the dead sea.

When we arrived at the dead sea we first got changed before walking down from the resort to the beach, there we went in and floated very easily especially since the water wasn’t very deep. ext we covered ourselves in mud which we were supposed to let dry but my eyes started to sting due to the saltwater in it so I rushed off to take a shower and clean it out.  Then we decided to lounge by the pool for a while before leaving the resort.

We drove back to Amman and once back decided to go grab dinner nearby. We walked down a set of steps into the heart of the city and found a rooftop terrace restaurant. There I got a local chicken dish which was quite good, even though it took a long time for them to serve us. Finally, we headed back to the hotel and hung around in reception talking for an hour before heading back to our rooms to take a shower
