Day 7 – Luxor

21st July 2021

After questionable sleep, I woke up around 5 to a beautiful red sky and took a few photos of it. We then removed all the stuff from the sailboat and went to grab breakfast on top of the support boat while it sailed to a nearby riverbank for us to board our minibus for the day

Our first stop on the minibus was a temple dedicated to the Nile God who takes the form of a crocodile, there we saw some mummified crocodiles. Next, we hopped onto the bus again to drive to Luxor and arrived around four hours later.

Add Luxor we checked in and went to a local restaurant, there I got a delicious chicken sandwich and a lemon and mint drink. After lunch we barely had time to come back to the hotel since it took 1 1/2 hours for the restaurant service, so I didn’t have time to change out of my swim trunks and we went straight to visit the next temple

The temple was the biggest one ever created and was huge, we walked around huge rows of columns and rooms. Just before leaving we were told that we had to go around counter clockwise around a statue of a beetle for good luck and we would get to make one wish.

Back at hotel I quickly called LBS over the internet, for more details on when my interview would be held, but I had difficulties with the connection. I was then able to take a shower before our covid tests which are necessary trying to Jordan. Thank God at least they didn’t put the Q-Tips as deep as they did in France.

We then headed to the market behind the hotel where a few of us bought souvenirs, I even helped them barter down prices. Next, we went to the same restaurant we had gone for lunch, but the quality had diminished because they were so busy in the evening, it ended up taking them two hours for them to serve us

The temperature today was 45° in the shade but felt like 54° in the Sun, it felt like the wind was a hairdryer at all times
