Day 31 – Coope San Juan

19th March 2022

Today even though i woke up relatively early it was hard to do anything in the morning as the rain was pouring, so instead we just went to sushi for lunch, before getting on the bus to our next stop, Coope San Juan, a cooperative made up of multiple families a few hours awy in the middle of Costa Rica.

When we got there, we were introduced to our families, and shown to the houses where we would be spending the next 2 nights. Our family was a little bit complicated, as it was made up of one grandma, one mother and a daughter, with the uncle and grand aunt living under the same roof. When we came in they offered us crepes and lemonade, and we sat with them whilst we tried to talk to one another, which was difficult since they had such thick accents. the uncle showed us his money collection from all over the world, where i was able to contribute with a bill from guatemala. We also played we the little girl and her friend and showed them how to build paper planes and frogs.

For dinner, our family cooked us chicken and rice, which was very good whilst we talked a little bit more about how life was for them in the cooperative.
