Day 35 – Manuel Antonio

23rd March 2022

Today i was picked up by the tour company i would be doing the day trip with at 5am. I said goodbye to my friends from the tour and headed out in our minivan.

Our first stop was at a fruit stand by the side of the road, where they made us try all different kinds of fruits, all really good including one from the region which taste like cinnamon sugar. After this we stopped at a local restaurant for a big breakfast.

On the way to Manuel Antonio, we made 2 other stops to look at the crocodiles from the crocodile bridge and see the scarlet macaws on the beach next to a fisherman fixing his nets. When we got to the Manuel Antonio park, our guide walked us through the main part of the park looking for different wildlife, which he would show us using his periscope. We ended up seeing a sleepy sloth, some frogs and lizards, as well as some cheeky white-faced monkeys. after this I decided to go dip in the water since it was so hot, so i went to the beach are and went into the shallow but warm water and chilled there for a bit, before walking around the park some more.

For lunch, we went to a restaurant on the top floor of a hotel, where we could see all the surrounding landscape. there we had another Casado before taking the 4-hour drive back to the city of San Jose.

Once back in San Jose I was met at my hotel by the people for the covid test, which I passed with flying colours!
